From humble beginnings to Material Success
The rise of Kapil Sharma
It is always heartening to see someone from humble beginnings witness sudden meteoric rise and success at the right time.
I have little idea about Kapil Sharma and have hardly seen any of his episodes at The Kapil Sharma Show or any other appearances.
No question he has worked hard to deserve all the success and fame. He is known for his sense of comedic acts and funny one liners. What got my curiosity was to understand the factors in his chart that may have contributed to it.
Does Jyotish or Vedic Astrology offer any insights into this sudden rise in recognition and success is the question that has me interested.
The inherent potential
Before we proceed, there is a disclaimer. The birth chart is from public source and hence not completely verified.
Example : Kapil Sharma
Below is the birth chart from Astrodatabank.
Does the chart show inherent potential – Let us take a look at the main D1 birth chart:
Concentration of Planets – As you can see that there is a heavy concentration of planets in the 5-11 axis (Virgo – Pisces) and the 10th house (Aquarius). One of the meanings of the 11th house is recognition, social fame and gains and the 10th house denotes profession.
Life focus – The ruler of the Lagna (Ascendant) is Venus and is itself placed in the 11th house indicating a focus in this area of life.
Performing arts as profession – The 3rd house (Cancer) indicates artistic or athletic abilities. When it connects to the 10th house of profession, it is generally a good indicator of the person pursuing a career as an artist.
The 3rd lord Moon is in the 10th house, and the 10th lord (Saturn) gets the aspect of the lagna lord (Venus). Kapil wanted to be a singer initially (indicated by Venus).
Further analysis and the 5-11 Axis
One of the significations of a strong 5-11 axis is of fame, recognition and wealth.
Parameters to consider:
- Strength of Planets/Houses
- Raja and Dhana Yogas (In birth chart and divisional charts)
- Any Special Yogas
- Activation of these Yogas in the right Dasha
Strength of Planets
The Lagna lord Venus is exalted in the 11th house (Pisces) and gets a benefic aspect from its ruler Jupiter, and also the yogakaraka Saturn making the 11th house strong. There is an exchange between the Yogakaraka and 10th lord Saturn and the 5th lord Mercury, which acts as a source of strength (again along the 5-11 axis).
In the Navamsa, there is an exchange between Mars and Jupiter which contributes to canceling Saturn’s debilitation.
On the challenging side, Mars and Venus are combust (very close to the Sun in degrees) and there is hint of a planetary war between Jupiter and Saturn (close degrees)
The inherent Yogas for success
Raja Yogas are what give fame and recognition to an individual. They are the result of past life karma that the soul has earned. Now, getting material fame and recognition is not always rosy (as it can have implications for other areas of life). Its just what the soul is meant to do in this life.
Here the lagna lord (Venus) and the Yogakaraka (Saturn) form a strong 1-9-10 Raja Yoga along the 5-11 axis. Also, 4th and 7th lords Sun and Mars also contribute making it a powerful 1-4-7-9-10 Raja Yoga!
Continuing, there are Dhana Yogas (Wealth). Mercury and Saturn have a 5-9 exchange of Dhana Yoga and Venus and Saturn form a 1-9-11 combination in the 5-11 axis.
From the Chandra (Moon) Lagna, Saturn and Venus reverse their roles. Venus becomes a powerful Yogakaraka forming the same yogas with the Lagna Lord (Saturn).
The Timing
Kapil Sharma first witnessed fame in 2007 when he won the Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The period: Jupiter – Rahu.
Jupiter is the 11th lord, aspects back to its own 11th house and has a source of strength (mentioned earlier). This activates the 5-11 axis. Rahu is in the 3rd house of performing arts.
From April, 2008 he begins the major period of Yogakaraka Saturn which continues the inherent activation of the yogas.
Divisional Chart – In D10 Chart (for Professions), Jupiter and Rahu are conjunct in the lagna thereby reinforcing the trend from the main D1 chart. Saturn is Vargottama (repeats in the same sign) in D10.
In Conclusion
This by no means is a full analysis, however demonstrates the power of Yogas when activated and having sources of strength.
Thank you for patiently reading and for your constructive feedback and insights.
